True view is a standalone viewer and has nothing to do with AutoCAD other than it allows you to view ACAD DWG files without ACAD and also will convert drawings to a different version. I am a bit confusd with the last ssentence, though. ACAD File Extension - What is it? How to open an ACAD file?
The factor between ACAD.PAT and ACADISO.PAT is 1"=25.4mm.If MEASUREMENT is the same on both PC's (which BTW shouldn't cause problems as it's saved in the DWG not on the PC) then the same file should be used on both. What may have caused problems is if someone's modified the ACAD.PAT / ACADISO.PAT files (as these are specific to each PC). Usually someone adds to these to create "custom" hatches which show in the normal Hatch dialog. Officially it's not a good idea as the ACAD*.PAT files may be overwritten on an update.Check the values inside these files comparing between the 2 PC's. The ACADISO.PAT should have values 25.4 times that of the ACAD.PAT file.If you want to add custom hatches to ACad rather have a PAT file for each saved in one of your support paths and leave the standard ACad hatch patterns alone. 2009-05-26, 03:17 PM #9 Member Re: Hatch scale/angles different per computer Thanks for the help. The ACAD.PAT file had not been modified but I did find how to correct the problem, just don't understand why it occured. The problem was with where in the list of support files that the custom hatch pattern directory was located. If the path was listed first the scale used was the larger scale, if the path was listed last the scale used is the proper scale. So I fixed the problem, just don't know why it fixed it.thanks again for the help,Confused but no longer extreamly frustrated. 2009-05-26, 04:43 PM #10 Re: Hatch scale/angles different per computer Sounds like a custom hatch.PAT file is "redefining" a standard hatch but using the definition from the ACADISO.PAT file. Not sure how ACad loads these, if as per the norm the first Hatch pattern it finds is the one used then this scenario should

Placing Dimensions in converted DXF Thread starter talkstosocks Start date Aug 2, 2006 Status Not open for further replies. #1 I've been trying to convert dft files to dxf's but keep having the same problem: when the dxf file is opened in autocad, new dimensions placed are wrong. I've tried all the settings in the "wizard" while saving. is there a way to fix this problem for dwg and dxf files? Replies continue below Recommended for you #2 Hi,when exporting to either dxf or dwg:- when the view is 1:1 there should be no problem- when the view is 2:1 setting the export scale to 1:1 (sheet scale) SE will multiply all by 2 to achive a true 1:1 image setting the export scale to 2:1 (view scale) SE will divide all by 2 to achive a true 1:1 image - when the view is 1:2 setting the export scale to 1:1 (sheet scale) SE will divide all by 2 to achive a true 1:1 image setting the export scale to 1:2 (view scale) SE will multiply all by 2 to achive a true 1:1 image From the above: if the sheet contains different scales onlysome of the exported views will show up correct in paper space. An example: base view 2:1, one line measures 1 inch Detail view (including the 1 inch line) 5:1 exporting 1:1 the line will be (1 * 2) = 2 inch and the detail view will show (1 * 5) = 5 inch exporting 2:1 the line will be (1 * 2)/2 = 1 inch and the detail view will show (1 * 5) / 2 = 2.5 inch The exported views can be found in ACAD in Modelspace but theyare stacked whereby their geometric midpoint match. But youcan arrange them in a way to be able to create seperate viewfor each in paperspace. To be on the safe side: export a view to dxf/dwg out of the'Draw in View' it is always 1:1HTHdy Status Not open for further replies. You're on the right way.You have to modify the AcadPS.msi package, Acad.msi Package and AcadLP.msi package. If you create a deployment all your settings you made during the deployment are applied with the transform files to the msi files. The msi file is never modified and you should also not modify this, because it is signed by Autodesk. The transform files in your case "acad-autocad2017.mst" is applied to acad.msi. and for the 2 others it is similar. If you use Orca, open the msi files, then use Transform->Apply Transform to apply the acad-autocad2017.mstNow you can see what the deployment modifies to the original msi file.Next you modify the LaunchCondition and remove (drop row) the CheckFor64BitOS from the InstallExecuteSequence. You do not need to modifiy the CustomAction table, because if you drop from InstallExecuteSequence it is never called. After all modification do Transform->Generate Transform and overwrite the existing transform. If you want, make a backup before.Do this for all three package. When I remember right the CheckFor64bitOS custom action is in only 2 of the 3 packages.I hope I have explained well, if not ask me.regardsMarkusACAD drawings created with an ACAD Trial Version?

On a mac book pro since 2014, 16gb ram and an ssd hard drive at home and ACAD 2016 on a bitching new PC at work. The PC certainly 'hangs' more than the Mac, even though the PC is a faster machine. The PC will make a mesh from contours in sketchup in the time it takes me to take a sip of coffee. For some reason ACAD will hang it up though. It may be larger files, but who knows.I think it ultimately depends on the rest of your software- I had to replaced my PC laptop and knew I would be purchasing CAD and photoshop and went the Mac route. If you have software already, than a platform jump may not make sense, but if you are starting from scratch... it might make sense.I have had 4 laptops over the last 16 years- mac, pc, pc, mac. The macs always seemed to have a better build quality and seemed to fail with a bit more grace. pc #2 was replaced when every session made me wonder if the machine was going to make it, both cooling fans wailing while trying to launch libre office... DraftSight is available for the mac for free (for a single user) and works pretty well: open native AutoCAD files just fine, although AutoCAD complains about it when you make a round trip. Printing/publishing between the two is a bit of a hassle. Most Apple stores were designed using Adesk software running on Windows. Thank you for your opinions. It has been quite helpful :).
