A Fictional Narrative – Originally Published in 2019 “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:15,16)There was once a very remote village with a population of several hundred. There came to this village a traveler one day. He spoke of a king and a kingdom that were seeking subjects. The villagers listened to the man as he presented the kingdom to them, but they did not feel they needed a king or a kingdom and went about their business paying no heed to what the man presented. There was one exception to this; one man in the village listened intently to the story of this king and kingdom and told the traveler that he wanted to become part of the kingdom.“All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”The traveler told the man that the only requirement for becoming a part of this kingdom under the king was to admit that he needed what the kingdom had to offer. The man did just that and became part of the kingdom. The traveler stayed for some time and told the man all about the wonderful king and kingdom. After a period of time, the traveler told the man that he needed to leave the village. He said he had been sent by the king to reach as many villages as he could with the message of the kingdom. The king was now calling him to continue on his journey. He would go on to the next remote village with the good news of the wonderful king and kingdom.“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105)Before the traveler left, he gave the man a book that had all the information that the man would need regarding the king and kingdom. He told the man to read the book every day and that it would encourage him and reinforce all the traveler had told him. The man was sad to see the traveler go but thanked him profusely for telling him about the kingdom. He told the traveler that the words of the kingdom had changed his life for the better and that he would seek to share the message with the other villagers.“For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout …..(1 Thess. 4:16)Before the traveler departed on his planned journey to other villages; he told the man something most incredible. He said that one day the king himself would come for his servants and take them to live with the king forevermore. The traveler told him that all of this was written in the book for the man’s encouragement. After the traveler’s departure, the man went throughout the village telling all those that would listen of all the wonderful news of the kingdom. The villagers at first listened, but most did not accept what the man told them. He explains that the first film was a romantic adventure, while the second is intended to be an outright buddy comedy. Wan compares the sequel to the buddy cop film "Tango & Cash" and emphasizes his creative vision for the franchise. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's Amber Heard role controversy gets addressed by the movie's director. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is the last movie of the DCEU, and the film has not managed to escape the same level of controversy that several different entries in the shared universe dealt with in the past. Multiple reports have touched on Heard's Mera having a reduced role in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's story, with the actress unhappy about the ordeal. Speaking with Empire Magazine (via The Direct), Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom director James Wan defended his choice to have Mera play a smaller role in the sequel than she did in the original Aquaman. Wan thinks Heard's complaints are fair, saying, "Actors don’t necessarily know what we [directors] behind the scenes are thinking about." According to Wan, the decision to make Heard have a reduced part in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's cast was due to the sequel not being "an action-adventure romantic comedy" but "an outright buddy comedy" between Arthur Curry and Orm. Check out the full quote below: "It’s fair that [Heard] said that [about the character being pared down], because she wasn’t in my head as I was working on this movie. Actors don’t necessarily know what we [directors] behind the scenes are thinking about. But this was always my plan. From the start, I pitched that the first film would be a 'Romancing The Stone'-type thing — an action-adventure romantic comedy — while the second would be an outright buddy comedy. A recent report on the behind-the-scenes of the Aquaman sequel by Variety shed light on where things stand with the actress. Heard was part of a highly publicized trial that saw her and ex-husband, Johnny Depp, make headlines around the world. The report was able to get notes from Heard's therapist, Dr. Dawn Hughes, which were submitted as part of the defamation trial. 2025-03-25Your a girl), a black shirt, and die your hair black. I'm flat out tired of society telling me how to be me. "Forest Whitaker" proclaims that just because your not beautiful by society's standards, or you don't wear the right clothes doesn't mean your not actually beautiful, or that you don't wear the right clothes. When I hear this song I ask myself, "Who decides who's beautiful? Or, who decides what the right clothes are?" And now I know, the empire. But, how can the empire know what I think is beautiful, or what I think is cool? It doesn't know. It seeks to know for me. The empire tries to pervert what I value by throwing me into a giant melting pot where all individualism is lost. My favorite line is, "To everyone out there, who's a little different, I say damn a magazine, these are gods fingerprints." This line reveals the truth about human purpose by declaring beauty is not found on the front of a magazine, but rather everything is beautiful because it was created by god. Our purpose is to live in the Kingdom, and allowing the empire to distract us with what our physical appearance "should be" is not living in the Kingdom. "The Brother" is not the picture perfect image of what we think of as beautiful, or rather "Hot," but this doesn't faze him. He sees his differences as beauty created by god.Dicsussion Questions:1)Where do you see beauty in life? And if this intoxicating beauty can be found in the first few pages of "People" magazine do you think some things should be reaccessed?2)Why do we get so caught up with our physical appearance? Imagine all the stress that could be prevented if our self-image was not held at the high regard that empire holds it at.3)How are you physically different? How can you celebrate "gods fingerprints" as beautiful?
