Ghost in The Graveyard but with a Real Ghost.
If you need to round up some quick, fun Halloween games for a party or just to keep little ones entertained at home, you’ll definitely want to add this one to your list!*This post contains affiliate links. Read more. One of my kids’ favorite backyard games is Ghosts in the Graveyard. So, I thought it would be perfect to reuse the name for a fun Halloween game that mixes soccer and tag up into a fun competition that can be played in the light or the in the dark! WHAT YOU’LL NEED:-12 Bowling pins-12 white cloths (could also use tissue paper, paper towel) draped over the top of the pin secured with a rubber band or tape-A ghost face drawn on each white cloth with marker-Sidewalk chalk or a rope to divide your playing space down the center-2 balls (one for each team)-A group of kids!WHAT TO DO:Set up the “graveyard” in your yard, on your driveway, or in the basement! Create a center line that divides the playing area into two halves. On each half, spread out six of the ghost bowling pins. A ball should also be place on each side. Divide the kids into two teams. Explain that they will be trying to knock over the other team’s “ghosts” by kicking ball to the other side of the playing area. No one can cross the center line into the other team’s playing space. As one child attempts to kick down a ghost bowling pin on the other team’s side, the rest of their teammates have to be on guard to protect their team’s ghosts from the opposing team. The goal is to try to be the last team with ghosts still standing in their “graveyard”.HOW TO CHANGE IT UP:-Try rolling or throwing the ball to knock over ghosts instead of kicking.-The bigger the playing area, the bigger the challenge!-To play this at night, use glow sticks as ghost jewelry! Wrap a glow stick around the neck of each bowling pin — use one color for each team.SKILL AREAS ADDRESSED: Gross motor skills, coordination, social skills, balance, enduranceSign up to receive our newsletter, a weekly roundup of our favorite posts and other great finds from around the web delivered right to your inbox! 2025-04-15Disney’s Haunted Mansion Movie Night RecipesHaunted Mansion is our favorite ride at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. And just couldn’t help creating a movie night to match our favorite rides and Disney Halloween films. And if you need a little more Haunted Mansion in your household, check out our Disney DIY, a mantle decked out in Haunted Mansion décor. But, hey, tis the season, right?!Our Disney Halloween Ideas Come From the Best Places! We recently sailed on the Halloween on the High Seas cruise with Disney Cruise Line so we were feeling a bit inspired for all things Halloween. We had seen meringue ghosts at Cove Café and just knew we wanted to incorporate those into some type of treat. Haunted Mansion was playing on Funnel Vision by the pool during our Halloween cruise which was probably also to blame. As a result, we were itching to get back to creating all types of fun treats for the Halloween season. Haunted Mansion Graveyard Dirt CupsHaunted Mansion is all about ghosts, so these little ghost meringue cups seemed like the perfect fit for a Haunted Mansion Movie Night! What better way to create a graveyard than with dirt cups?! Dirt cups are one of our favorite treats any time of year because, well chocolate. And Oreos. And let’s face it, they bring us right back to our childhood. With chocolate pudding, whipped cream, and crushed Oreos, we love how easy these are to whip up and that even little ones can help! Here’s what you’ll need for the Graveyard Dirt CupsSmall Plastic dessert cups or dishes with a wide mouthWhite and Blue melting chocolates, or whatever color you want to make your gravesIngredients10 Oreos, crushed2 boxes Chocolate PuddingWhipped Cream or cool whipInstructionsPrepare chocolate pudding according to instructions on box,Set aside half of pudding; mix other half with whipped cream..In dessert cups, layer chocolate pudding mixture with chocolate pudding and Oreos.Top with Oreos, white chocolate graves, and ghost meringues. 2025-04-08Peaks have formed Step 6 Using a piping bag, pipe little ghosts onto a pan at least 1 inch between each ghost Step 7 Bake for 1 hour at 200 degrees Step 8 after 1 hour turn off the oven, but keep meringues in oven for an additional 1-2 hours to allow them to dry out. Meringues will be ready once they’re easily lifted from the baking sheet Step 9 Once cooled, pipe black icing to make faces on ghosts Step 10 Let dry Step 11 Enjoy! Graveyard Chocolates for HalloweenWhat kind of graveyard would this be without graves? We found the perfect little silicone grave molds at JoAnn Fabrics. We chose white and blue melting chocolates for these and added a small amount of black food coloring to the white to give it a slightly gray, marble-stone look. When you’re pouring the melted chocolate, don’t worry about it being too perfect. We actually loved the look of the gravestones being very imperfect and thought it gave an aged, slightly spooky look. Madame Leota’s Sparkling LimeadeMadame Leota is one of our favorite characters in Haunted Mansion, so we knew we had to create a treat dedicated just to her. And what better way to create a spooky Halloween drink than with a bit of slightly mad science?! And that’s where Butterfly Pea Flower comes into this equation. Butterfly Pea Flower Tea has a unique chemical in it, that, when mixed with acids like lime or lemon, changes from a beautiful blue to purple! It’s such a fun thing to watch, and due to the difference in liquid densities, it will often separate and stay floating at the top of the glass. You can make a lot of really beautiful and fun creations with this flower tea; trust me when I say I may have fallen down the rabbit hole researching fun recipes using this tea on Pinterest. Oops. My bad. This limeade is super easy to make and takes just a few minutes. Here’s what you’ll need:Tall Glass, we like these onesGlass PitcherIngredients1/2 c. lime juice, we fresh-squeezed ours, but
2025-04-11Duskmourn: House of Horror has been fully revealed and it's time for our usual analysis of the archetypes and color pairs for each new set!The prerelease is already playable in paper starting this weekend, while if you are a digital-only player you will have to wait a couple more days as Duskmourn will be available on MTG Arena starting September 24th.There is no time to waste, so let's take courage and venture into the monstrosities of this house of horror like an exploratory group from an 80's movie... Hoping to be one of the protagonists or maybe the cameraman so as not to die! This limited is structured on two main themes: enchantments and the graveyard!Enchantments trigger the new Eerie mechanic and are emphasized by two other new features: Room and Impending, as well as by the various enchantment creatures present, including Glimmers. They are also synergistic with the graveyard theme as they facilitate the achievement of Delirium, an ability returned and originally from Shadows over Innistrad. The graveyard is mainly characterized by two strategies: Delirium and Reanimator. Manifest Dread is instead a specially modified version of the old Manifest from Fate Reforged, precisely to send one of the first two cards of the library to the graveyard and help both of these game plans. As with every limited set, here too we find the “signpost uncommons”, a first manifesto that defines the strategy and mechanics on which the archetype is based, but here, unlike usual, there are two of them for each color pair, in addition to one classic signpost rare.Azorius: Eerie TempoCards: Optimistic Scavenger, Scrabbling Skullcrab, Ethereal Armor, Shardmage's Rescue, Bottomless Pool, Creeping Peeper, Stalked Researcher, Fear of Surveillance, Fear of Isolation, Sheltered by Ghosts, Grand Entryway, Cult Healer, Erratic Apparition, Tunnel Surveyor, Unwilling Vessel, Meat Locker, Clammy Prowler, Glimmerburst, Fear of Immobility, Lionheart Glimmer, Fear of Failed Tests, Fear of Falling, Fear of Abduction.White-blue is based on the Eerie mechanic, with creatures that are powered up by enchantments. Gremlin Tamer is almost Young Pyromancer, but with an improved ability since it triggers when enchantments enter and therefore also with Glimmer tokens from Tunnel Surveyor or Glimmerburst. Inquisitive Glimmer and Optimistic Scavenger are also premium uncommons for the archetype, both playing a very similar role to what we have already seen in NEO, with Jukai Naturalist and Generous Visitor respectively.Combo:Fear of Isolation + Bottomless Pool + Gremlin Tamer = cast Bottomless
