FYI, prime will tell you when it fails per core. I dont think the numbers really mean ish unless you are concerned about crunching prime numbers. Either the blend or large fft's test will do that. I prefer the large fft's test. and does it matter if temp goes two high when i'm using prime95 some times it gets to 70-9xC? so does it matter if i run it for 8hrs 20 minutes of P95 small fft's will drive CPU temps to max. If you exceed 70 C, your are running too hot.Learn to use the BIOS for overclocking. Windows utilities tend to unnecessarily overvolt which drives the temps too high.We have had all sorts of discussions about how long to run P95 - 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, or 24 hours. Dec 10, 2011 132 0 18,680 #14 k its bin running for about 20min and im using cpuz and speedfan and it shows on cpuz well nothing much just core speed 4000.5 mhz core valtage is 1.2 and yea i did use bios for this so it wont go over 1.2v i just did what this guy said on bios all those setting i have atm and yea in those 2xmin running it the cpu is at 45C the core 0 is at 56C hasnt gone to 60 and idk why but the gpu is always 4x-50 and im not even playing games i have'nt even touched gpu settings. Load, CPUz was saying I was getting 1.503 for vcore. I confirmed the voltage on CPUz, Corsair Link and Asus AI suite - all reading the same. Until I get the cooling under control (my H100i v2 is now delayed until next week. Grrrr), I may disable HT and see if that helps.I also did some checking on the AIO block contact - seems the Prime Z370a is slightly thinner than the mobo I had prior. I had a few washers on the backplate and thought it was enough, I took off the cooler block and noticed the standoffs were a bit loose. I added another washer (there's 3 on there now) and now it's nice and snug. Did some simple tests with Cinebench, and still, the package temp is 100c under load, but I'm noticing the AIO temp is now a bit higher, so I did have a contact issue.Regarding the bios - I noticed there's a beta version available for 5605. I have 0605 installed. Do you think it's wise to install a beta bios or wait until it releases? Kind of strange that 5605 was released as a beta after 0605 was a public release. Otherwise it's stable.As festerovic said, blend for 24 hours if you want to make sure it's 100% stable. If you don't care that there's a small chance it might crash, run it for less time (it's debatable how healthy long prime95 sessions are).Also do 20 minutes of small ffts to get max temperature. If its over 80C after 20 min of small ffts, it's too hot. Though at 4ghz and that cooler, you should have no problem keeping it under 70C.edit: what's your voltage? those temps are too high for a 4GHz oc. Prime won't kill it overnight though.
