Bowser's incoming forces. This sequence shows off an extensive look at the Jungle Kingdom that varies a lot from what fans may be accustomed to from the "Donkey Kong Country" games. In "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," the Jungle Kingdom has a highly-advanced road system, complete with high-octane kart drivers. Furthermore, plenty of iconic "Donkey Kong Country" characters make cameos in the movie. Aside from Donkey Kong and Cranky Kong, there are pretty big appearances from Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, and Funky Kong. Thankfully for fans of the "Donkey Kong" games, rumors of Illumination giving Rogen's character his own spin-off have been circling since 2021. He even reiterated his support for a "Donkey Kong Country" movie in an interview with ScreenRant. It seems as if a "Donkey Kong Country" spin-off is possible within the next few years, since the cast of Kongs has already been assembled. The only thing left is for the Jungle Kingdom to be thrown into disarray by the arrival of a villain like King K. Rool, who recently got a revival in the Nintendo world by appearing as a playable character in "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate," which marked his first video game appearance since "Mario Super Sluggers" over a decade earlier. A post-credits scene teases the debut of a familiar Mario ally Illumination Hopefully, audiences don't leave too early before the end of the credits to "The Super Mario Bros. Movie." Movie. Today, three new posters were revealed, one for Bowser, one for Toad, and one for Donkey Kong. The Bowser poster teases the conclusion of Bowser’s attack on the penguins showcased in the film’s first trailer, as he triumphantly stands with a Power Star in hand. The Toad and DK posters don’t offer us much to go on, simply offering a look at the characters in a field of mushrooms and the jungle, respectively. The trailers for The Super Mario Bros. Movie have given us a clear idea what roles Bowser and Toad will be playing, but there are a lot of questions surrounding Donkey Kong. The film’s second trailer and recent commercial have both shown Mario and Donkey Kong fighting in an arena, but it’s unclear if this is part of Mario’s training to take on Bowser. The second trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie has arrived, and unlike the brief teaser that we saw in October, this trailer is jam-packed with enough details, references and Easter eggs to sink an airship. Strap on your helmets and find your nearest Kart or Motorbike, it’s time to break down all of the plot details, and deep-cut references that we found in the new Super Mario Bros. movie Trailer.Mario Enters the ArenaThe trailer starts with a shot of Mario nervously walking out into a crowded arena as the soundtrack references the iconic theme of World 1-1 from the Super Mario Bros. NES Game.As the crowd chants Mario’s name, we’re reminded of this famous Super Mario Bros 3 commercial, featuring a crowd of Mario Fans so large that they can be seen from space.Mario vs. Donkey Kong Mario and Donkey Kong are standing on a bright-red girder, and in this shot you can see other details, such as a blue ladder, barrels and tires suspended in the air, and more red platforms directly below them. This all emulates the exact level layouts you would see in the original Donkey Kong arcade game where Mario and Donkey Kong made their first appearances. The Cranky Kong CameoPeach and Cranky Kong are here too, making their first appearances in the trailer, and Cranky Kong seems to be presiding over the contest as some sort of ruler or monarch. Perhaps this is a world that is somewhat removed from Princess Peach’s castle and is under Kong rule instead?More Arena Easter EggsThere are other references in this arena as well, which point to it being owned by the Kongs, such as the carved bananas in the stands and the audience being filled predominately with more Kongs. Of course, it’s not just DK infrastructure represented in this arena. Mario’s iconic yellow blocks and brick blocks are visible in the background as well. None of these blocks have question marks on them, so Mario probably won’t receive any power-ups in this particular fight.Super Smash Bros. This movie looks like it's going to be filled with elements that include a slew of Mario games, and as Mario and Donkey Kong run toward each other, we are reminded of the start of a Super Smash Bros. match. When Mario jumps into the air to hit Donkey Kong, it even looks like his forward air attack from Smash Bros. too.Speaking

In The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Seth Rogen will be playing the role of Donkey Kong. Nintendo’s Kong family has been around since 1981, appearing in countless video games over the last 42 years. One of the most memorable of those games was 1999’s Donkey Kong 64. The game marked the first 3D Donkey Kong adventure, but it’s probably best known as the place where the groan-inducing DK Rap made its debut. In a new video promoting The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Rogen teases that the “iconic” track will appear in the movie when DK makes his debut. It’s hard to tell if he’s joking, however, as Rogen uses the occasion to laugh at some of the song’s more ridiculous lines. Videos by ComicBook.com The video of Rogen discussing the DK Rap can be found in the Tweet embedded below. Composed by Grant Kirkhope, the DK Rap has gotten a lot of ridicule over the years, often from Kirkhope himself. Despite the song’s silliness, it has lived on in several different ways. A version of the track can be found in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, where players can select it as a track in the game’s various Donkey Kong stages. In 2017, Kirkhope even created a spiritual successor to the DK Rap to promote the video game Yooka-Laylee. It’s highly unlikely that the DK Rap will appear in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, but the fact that it’s being used to promote the film says a lot about the song’s lasting power! Interestingly enough, this is not the only unusual music choice used to promote The Super Mario Bros. Movie. A commercial released last month featured the theme song for The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, an animated series that first aired in 1989. Universal and Illumination Entertainment are clearly
