Safari 3 Beta 3.0.4
#1 I am in a disagreement with my campuses IT over this. #4 Hello Charles, Thank you for contacting the online help desk. Actually, we did do the research. The fact is that Safari 3 in Leopard is Beta. The research is there. Something listed in a feature list of the OS is trumped when you go look at that product itself and it is still in beta. Vista did not advertise IE7+ as a beta though they should have. Safari 3 is more stable than IE7+ was/is by a long shot. Apple is doing the stand up thing and advertising it as beta when they consider it unfinished. Microsoft was not as honorable in this respect. "sorry try again" is what you told me. I provided you the proof. Please let me know if you have any other trouble with the online course platform. Regards,Deva WUniversity of Wyoming Online Help Desk #5 they want to see proof so i can access my online classesHello, Thank you for your response. Do you have a link to support this? If so, I can forward it to our developers and within 30 days or less it should be supported by our platform. All places we can download Safari still say beta. Even the Links on the Mac OS X Leopard link you said (but, they are links for Tiger and Windows). So, send me an apple link proving they are done with the beta and I'll see it gets to the appropriate team. If they have any feedback about it I'll see that you get it. Please let me know if you have any other trouble with the online course platform. We at the Bank have proven that Safari 3 solves the problems but can't recommend a beta version to our users or the Bank CEO, who is a devoted Mac and Safari user. While Apple is promoting Safari to Windows users they are telling loyal Mac users not to use it. I think that Apple believes that by releasing the final version they won't sell as many Leopard upgrades. While this is probably true, as a loyal Apple user since 1982, I think we have a right to know approximately when the final version will be released. While right now I am fairly disgusted with Apple, I would buy Leopard for my G5 tomorrow if it would help get a true release date for the final version of Safari for my Bank. Being honest and informative with your customers is good for business in the long run. Currently, while many of my friends who I thought never would , are thinking of switching to a Mac, I'm now concerned that Apple is getting too big now and not being the responsive and customer focused company it once was. #12 It's coming. 2025-04-16On Leopard to get it out by the 26th and most likely pulled some people away from Safari 3 for Tiger and Windows. It'll come around. Honestly, you can recommend a beta for the customers. Safari 3 beta is pretty stable and decent. #13 I don't see "beta" after the version number.. and I think it said that in tiger"version: 3.0.3 beta" Picture 3.png 18.6 KB · Views: 256 #14 I've held off using Safari 3 beta on my Macs. The windows box I use at work is running Safari 3 beta and it's been ok, but has some issues. The Safari under my friends new Mac mini running Leopard is working great. And as Rhosfelt shows in his screen shot, it doesn't have the word 'beta' after it.Hoping we'll get the 3.0.4 release soon so I can put it on my Macs. I don't use Safari all that often, except for some web sites that run better under Safari (ie. sprint.com has menus that don't show up under Firefox). #15 so it looks like it will go to windows and tiger. and i guess either today or tomorrow, if it's happening in October Looks like it will probably coincide with 10.4.11 (which may coincide with 10.5.1) #16 i hope it's a beta, it keeps crashing, is there anyway to get the old safari on leopard ? #17 i hope it's a beta, it keeps crashing, is there anyway to get the old safari on leopard ? Nope, some people have posted they have somehow got 2.04 on Leopard and it crashes...try repairing disk permissions in Disk Utility...If not, 10.5.1 is just around the corner #18 Mine has also crashed a lot. But it is not a Beta. they will smooth out bugs soon. Just send all your error reports!!
