I am beginning to wonder if it's a 8800-specific issue or a Vista Ultimate-specific issue. I am running two Vista systems, one as described and a lesser system on Home Premium with a 7800-series card with no problems.There is no question in my mind, however, that nVidia is responsible for this error. I reinstalled Vista Ultimate on my clean (reformatted) disk numerous times. Each time, the video driver OR the chipset driver were the FIRST things I installed (after I let Vista update). At one point I O/Ced too high and Vista gave me some dll error and then the CP refused to open.I've since reinstalled Vista and have had no problems. #11 I had this problem and would resolve it with system restore. I reformatted and I haven't seen it since. When I was having the problem I was at 3.2 and am now at 3.0 #12 I scaled-back my OC and reinstalled Vista, but I'm still having the problem with the control panel.Don66, just to confirm... when you run DXDiag, your DDI version says 10? My DX VERSION is 10, but the DDI version is reporting 9ex... Anyway, I
